These quick and easy bookmarks are one of the gifts I’m making for the ladies in our handbell choir at church. To make them, I took the Graceful Glass DSP and cut the pieces into 1.5″ strips. I colored them with my Stampin’ Blends. When you color them, look for the side with the shiny black printing. This is the FRONT, turn it over and color the BACK. In the examples below, I colored one on each side. If you color the front, the color is more intense, but I am worried that the ink might smear with handling.
After you color the vellum, allow it to dry thoroughly and the alcohol in the blends to evaporate completely. (I wouldn’t use the heat tool to do this or the velllum could curl. It only takes 5-10 minutes.)
I backed the vellum with a 1.5″ x 6″ strip of regular whisper white card stock. Snail adhesive works fine for this, it does not show through. Avoid liquid adhesives which could smear your ink.
Then I cut Lovely Lipstick 7.25″ by 2″. I cut the top with the Scalloped tag topper, and then finished it with a polka dot tulle ribbon.
Here are some close ups:
I hope you have fun with this quick and easy gift. I could imagine using them as a hostess gift or stocking stuffer too!
