Butterfly Gala Simple Notecards

These quick and easy cards are handy to keep on hand for a quick thank you or “thinking of you” note. I was looking for something fast after the holiday crafting overload of the last few weeks!

They use two of the free gifts available during Sale-A-Bration 2019 along with the Gingham Gala Suite from the new Occasions catalog.

The card bases are standard Whisper White card stock scored at 4.25″ and cut at 5.5″.

The fronts are cut from the Botanical Butterfly DSP in 4″ x 5.25″. Watch carefully, as particularly the green paper has a definite direction to it.

The sentiments are 1.25″ x 5.25″.

Best Bunny Birthday and Baby Cards

IMG_4153

Our pastor has a new grand baby, and my step-mom had a birthday. These cards turned out to be perfect for both!

I also swapped out some sentiments and made a box of note cards for my step-mom for her birthday. Her trademark doodle is a “bunny butt” so when I saw the preview of the annual catalog, this was one of the first sets on my wish list!

How I cut the card stock:

  • Standard A2 Card Base in Whisper White (4.25″x5.5″)
  • Soft Sea Foam card front 4″x5.25″
  • Mint Macron Strip for sentiment – 4″x1.25″
  • DSP Strip – 4″x1.5″
  • For the bunnies, you can use thin or think Whisper White, and I cut it 3.5″x8.5″ and then flipped it around to do two sets of bunnies per piece. Leave yourself a little room to hold the paper outside of the punch or lining it up can take forever!

The soft sea foam layer was embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder which gives great texture without being too busy.

To create the bunnies:

If you’ve never used the Bunny Builder (or Fox Builder) punch, it’s a handy trick to punch some card stock or grid paper.

Then line up the stamps with the punched holes, and pick them up onto an acrylic block or your Stamparatus.

TIP: Save the grid paper in the stamp case for next time!

You can also line up the bunny’s face and tie with the second Stamparatus plate as shown above. I ended up taking off the bow tie.

Stamp the bunnies with Memento ink and then color them with the blends. Punch them out after you color them. It’s much easier to color the tiny hands and tail when they’re not moving around under your pen.

Assemble the bunny using glue dots. These are much easier to place with a Paper Piercing Tool or Take Your Pick.

Stamp the sentiment onto the Mint Macron card stock, and then use Snail to adhere it to the DSP, then the DSP to the card front, and finally the card front to the card base.

Attach the bunny to the card using dimensionals. (I used mini dimensionals for the ears, but if you don’t have these, just standard dimensionals in half with scissors.)

To do the envelope “bunny butt”, I used a Stampin’ Write marker to do just the outline of the bunny and then stamp on his tail.

Bunnies aren’t just for Easter!
